First, a disclaimer: I usually play hidden object games in 2-3 sittings. I like to pop in, solve some puzzles and pop out until the next time. Saying that I must admit I played TSO3 in one sitting. With very smooth gameplay/story, I hadn't even noticed I was getting close to the end till the achievements for collectables started popping up.
It is Indeed a part of series (previous part sets up this whole world), but comparing to TSO2 - this game is a MAJOR upgrade. TSO2 felt like a confusing chore that I cannot even remember finishing, this one is easy to the eye, with nicely written plot, nice although sometimes pointless visuals (comparing to other games in this genre) and overall is just a good, solid HOG.
Bonus points for cute little griffin. Seriously, it's super cute. Like, SUPER CUTE. You'll probably screenshot every scene where you use him. I didn't and I regret not doing that.
