Marble Duel is a fantastic turn-based marble shooter and let me tell you why!
I started the game expecting to find a 100% Zuma-clone because well, it looks so much like it - P/S: I didn't watch any of the gameplay videos so, going in, I had no idea. However, this game completely blew my mind!
I cannot honestly say I wasn't disappointed when I found out this isn't a Zuma clone because I was itching to test my reflexes - I was pretty good at Zuma back then... with a penchant for gap bonuses and rapid shots - but I grew to love this game pretty quickly. The game is not only different and unique; I've never thought a turn-based marble shooter can be possible and also be so entertaining!
Of course, the clever AI they use in the game helped a whole lot as well, they aren't exactly dumb but they do occasionally make "blunders" that you can then capitalize on... that is if you managed to spot it.
Not to mention, I also really like how the game uses different colored marbles for different purposes. This gameplay design isn't exactly unique because I've seen something similar before, but it fits perfectly well with the overall "battle-style" gameplay where you get to heal, shield, boost your damage, attack, and whatnot.
In terms of controls, everything seems to work well. The game provides you with aim assist which is intended to eliminate the uncertainty of missing your mark - this is important because you only have so many moves per turn. However, there's a small bug with the aim assist when it involves marbles that are slanted. For some reason, your marble won't go to the place indicated by the aim assist and instead be 1 marble behind. The bug's annoying but it's not at all game-breaking.
What I'm trying to say is that although what the other reviewers said might be true in the past, this game has definitely been patched up and re-balanced, and now, it's truly a gem of a game!
The only thing I'd agree with the others is the lackluster storyline. It sounds just like the usual stuff you'd always see in mobile games and it's not engaging enough to attract my attention... not like the gameplay did, anyway.

Oh, and this game took me completely by surprise (in a good way), and for that, it gets some extra bonus points too!
Thanks to Reforced for gifting this game. I definitely had a blast playing this!

Addressing the Negative Reviews
I've read some of the reviews from other players and I've got to say, the game has greatly improved. Yes, sometimes, the AI can somehow "see" the marbles that are coming up, but perhaps they are, like you, simply trying their luck. Gaining enough gems to upgrade your skills is easy enough now even if I didn't manage to get 3 stars for all the levels I've played. I'm currently at level 32 and I'm still progressing at a really nice pace. What I'm trying to say is that although what the other reviewers said might be true in the past, this game has definitely been patched up and re-balanced, and now, it's truly a gem of a game!

Overall
Personally, I think that Marble Duel didn't get the attention it deserves. The game is so incredibly well-designed and innovative... and I'm amazed that the devs managed to convert a gameplay that was previously based primarily on hand-eye coordination into turn-based, giving this game a whole new depth in terms of its very strategic gameplay. In fact, the only thing missing here is to add a PvP mode, giving players the chance to duel each other. Oh, and this game took me completely by surprise (in a good way), and for that, it gets some extra bonus points too!
