The main campaign is only 1-2 hours long, but I really enjoyed it! Graphics are great, the music fit the gameplay very well (and it's not usually my kinda jam). There's also a 'second campaign' that ramps up in difficulty significantly. This game is probably the most difficult racing game I've played, as it requires you to look ahead while also performing different combos and quick thinking, compared to most drifting/slipstream racers. It definitely gives off platformer vibes in that sense, very fast-paced (specifically later levels) and jumping/flying between platforms. There are loads of checkpoints though so the main difficulty is beating levels without dying or getting high scores. The pace of the game definitely lent itself to some intense, rewarding moments.
I have gotten frustrated a few times as it feels like I'm fighting the controls, sometimes it's so touchy in that the slightest off angle will send you flying. (I use an Xbox 360 controller.) The more I've played it the more comfortable I've gotten, but I still just spent 3 hours on one level trying to perfect it without dying and could consistently go 2 minutes fine then one little thing being off is your demise. If you struggle with racing games I'm not sure how much you'd enjoy it, as I found by far the most fun to be when you're in the groove and flying across the maps. Occasionally when I got stuck or confused it really halted the flow of things. Another minor complaint is my resolution reset itself from 1920x1080 twice, which I initially thought was the game being blurry.
There's loads of additional maps, with the workshop ones I've played being (generally) fantastic and randomly generated as well. Despite the campaign being shorter than I expected there's no lack of content! Overall it's been a pure joy to play Distance and would absolutely recommend giving it a try.
