I should start off by saying that I'm more of fan of arcade racing games and maybe some Need for Speed stuff. I thought this game would completely overwhelm me but thankfully that's not the case because of its Racer mode and its tutorial - though I got bored after the Basic tutorial and jumped immediately into a race. Managed to get first place for many races and championships despite my poor-ish skills and I had to repeat several races a couple of times before I get it right (skipped practice race too :P).

The game provides different types of races as well. It's nice to take a break from the usual races and hit the dirt roads with a truck, for instance. The only vehicle that I just couldn't get the hang of is its karts. Are karts so really hard to control in real life?

Anyway, I can't compare this game with its predecessors since I've not played any of the DiRT games before but from my time playing this one, it's definitely fun. That satisfaction you get when you beat your competition by mere seconds or overtake someone who's ahead by skidding in the inner circle can be incredibly thrilling.
