It is a fun game to play with friends. You can still solo with a bot, but the fun is with local coop or online coop. Voice chat and controller is strongly recommended when playing the game.

The game mechanics are interesting. It may seem repetitive. All we need to do is crafting tracks and keep the train moving. The fun part is how the team works together to get to the next station, with planning and coordination.

There were lots of chaotic moments when I played the game, especially after we upgraded the engine a few times. “Get fire, and put out the water” or “I will mine the trees, you can cut the iron” plenty of funny moments: We once laid the railroad to a dead end just outside the train station by mistake, so the train crashed 5 seconds after leaving the station. Also failed to escape the dynamite explosion radius in time and killed the whole team. Lots of puns too: “I think we are on track for our target”; “We have iron deficiency”…

The soundtrack is relaxing, so it balances the chaos perfectly you will need it

However, I did encounter a few issues while playing the game.

• It sometimes freezes after one player is disconnected, or the screen just stuck without warning in the middle of nowhere. So the only way to continue to play is to force close the game and re-launch the game. However, you lose all the progress you have made. It can be really discouraging sometimes.
  
• The train sometimes blocks players even though there is one tile clearance around a corner.

Overall, Unrailed! is a good game to play with friends remotely, especially during the current pandemic.
