Judgement: Not Recommended

(This game was a gift from a friend)
I want to be able to recommend Haimrik, but unfortunately I can't; the game has a very neat concept but fails in so many other areas.
For one thing, the keyboard controls are absolutely abysmal and there's no way to rebind them. Thankfully, it does have controller support and those controls are much more intuitive. Un-thankfully, I ran into issues with the controller as well. For one, taking a screenshot with your keyboard disables your controller for a couple of seconds so you better not be doing anything important when you do; two, after one of the bossfights my controller wouldn't stop vibrating until I exited the game.
The are some extremely LOUD and obnoxious bird sounds during the game that for some reason are considered "Music" instead of "Sound Effects". Otherwise the music is passable.
And for being a game that's all about using words, there are a lot of disjointed sentences and even some spelling errors. It's unpleasant and disappointing for this kind of game..
To top it all off, the game feels more tedious to play than fun. All of the puzzles where you use words to advance are set on these bridges stretching between two doorways, and you end up going back and forth and back and forth grabbing different words that you need to advance. Eventually it starts feeling more like a chore than a game.
So: fun idea, nice art style, okay story, but the rest of it is just so... disappointing that I can't in good faith recommend it to anyone.
