A simple way to describe this game is this: imagine you are playing an interactive version of "The history of the entire world, I guess", but it's actually impressively boring and frustrating instead of entertaining.
This is quite possibly the most boring, and senseless game I've ever played, and I've played plenty of boring and convoluted games. I can see what they tried to do with this game, with the artistic feel and philosophic theme, but instead of making a nicely structured, fun, and immersive experience, they have made the absolute best cure for insomnia.
It's an artsy-fartsy point-and-click game, that's trying to present you the beginnings and history of the Universe and humankind, in ways that lack any type of fun or sense of accomplishment. Most of the time you'll click random stuff hoping for something to happen or repeat the same action for 5 minutes until you make any progress. More often than not, what goes on in the cutscenes makes no logical sense, and from time to time you are presented with some puzzles if you can even call them that, that are either just repetitive tasks or could be completed by a 6-year-old.
I know you can't expect next-level entertainment or some intricate storytelling from a Point and click-type game, but even with such expectations, this game fails to deliver. I've played walking sims and visual novels that didn't manage to make me yawn as much as this game.
Update: Since at the time I wrote this review I wasn't 100% done with the game, I decided to go with it to completion, in hopes that it might get better. I was wrong, it got even more repetitive, still as painfully boring, and with even less sense. This is a god-awful game that looks pretty, and that's all it has. So, don't judge the book by its cover. If you take, or in the case of these devs, make a pile of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, no matter how much glitter you throw on it and how pretty the packaging, on the inside is still a stinking pile of ♥♥♥♥.
I very rarely leave negative reviews, if I dislike something I'll usually just ignore it and leave it behind. This game managed to frustrate and annoy me enough to do so.
