Verdict: While the game doesn't offer much unique, it executed the classic JRPG formula brilliantly with a modern sensibility in its writing and accessibility features.
Positives:
- The music and sound design is wonderful! I'm unapologetically biased because I have a soft spot for the combination of acoustic piano and chiptune(-esque) synths, but aivi & surasshu [aivisura.bandcamp.com] truly made some beautiful tracks here.
- The characters and the queer rep is heartwarming. While it's not perfect (more on this later), the game did a great job of introducing a cast of characters the players can fall in love with and relate to because of their individual charm and flaws. I especially enjoyed all of Gilda's screen time before joining the party. The way her lightning attacks were animated (and her banger soundtrack!) really brought her feisty thirst for battle to life, and her insecurity underneath as well as her instant crush on the heroine Maritte were endearing.
- The game put a lot of care into making the game more accessible.
- I turned on the "Content Warning" option during my playthrough, and the game would put up concise and accurate descriptions of upcoming plot events and remind me I could hold Y to skip a scene whenever something potentially disturbing/triggering happens.
- It also offered options to make the combat timing easier, and even an "Auto-Victory" option so that you can use it to win non-boss battles instantly. I didn't use these, but I really appreciate that these are available to players who find the combat hard/tedious.

- For me at least, the game hit the sweet spot of adding secrets on the map. I found most of the collectibles and optional bosses without going out of my way to do so, and only had to rely on a guide for a few spots. The difficulty of exploring the map, solving the puzzles, and finding the secrets were just right for me.
- I feel like in certain places, the characters could use even a few more lines of dialogue to become more fleshed out. Examples: the game set up a huge reveal that Perticia "hated" Safina because Saf's actions deeply hurt Perty in the past, yet when those two finally reunited in the Epilogue, the screen simply faded to black without showing any exchange between the two; the Epilogue showed that Maritte did love women, yet she acted like a typical clueless MC previously and never acknowledged Gilda's affection in any way.
- The game put much effort into accessibility (see above) yet left them in the in-game Options hoping the players would stumble upon them. I believe the game should explicitly tell the players about them at the start of the game.
