  • Morlan's shorts:
I thought this would be a joy to play but don't be "fooled" by the cute setting..there are some design choices that make this game more of a chore than a joy to play. (The video is sped-up by the way..). To sum up:
+Well drawn and cute graphics/good animations/passable music if you like that type of design. I do, it's fine..
+Didn't encounter any bugs so far (still one level to go I think)

-Starts in fullscreen and cannot switch to window
-No options AT ALL, cannot change keys, video mode, sound options.. there's nothing. Come on, it's 2017! I could redefine keys (old skool lingo!) on Spectrum games!
-No instructions. ("X" key is used to teleport, I almost missed that one..)
-Requires some pixel-perfect jumps but the (random) wind that carries you in the opposite direction makes you miss the ledge.
-Floaty controls/movement for a game that requires precision. (Or maybe it's the ice on the platforms, they are slippery buggers)
-Getting shot makes you lose control and you get thrown around most likely off the ledge. There are a LOT of l-edges!
-Short music loops get repetitive after trying level 2 for the 43rd time! etc..

The programming and skills are there more or less, but the design of some elements makes it less enjoyable to play. The total lack of options doesn't help either.. It's more of an "okay" recommendation but if I had it positive you wouldn't know the caveats.. Yourewel Come!

PS. Take a look at Eversion, which I also reviewed. Better design (and a much more enjoyable game for me) with a similarly looking platformy feel to it.

Don't waste more time reading lengthy reviews.. time is of the essence!
